About the Instructor

Dr. Rogers has taught English as a second language (ESL) and college reading as an adjunct at the University of South Alabama.  Currently, she works for Spring Hill College where she designs, develops, and delivers professional development training for faculty and supports student learning.  She has been an educator for 20 years in a variety of educational settings both stateside and abroad.  Here are some of her career highlights:

 

  • Virtual Student Foreign Service Internship in Cuba with the US State Department; 
  • Teaching as an English Fellow at a Mozambican university for the US State Department;
  • Demonstration teacher for UCLA's laboratory school;
  • Managing educational products for Hampton-Brown publishing;
  • Volunteering for the Peace Corps in Honduras; and
  • Co-coordinating the Electronic Village Online for English language teachers' professional development. 

 

Education & Training:

Dr. Rogers has a doctorate in instructional design and a master of arts in Teaching English to Speaker of Other Languages (TESOL). She holds K-12 bilingual (Spanish) teaching certification from the California Commission on Teaching. Additionally, she's certified to teach in Alabama. Her areas of expertise are in teaching, instructional design, and quality assurance.
